Life is Strange: Double Exposure is the fourth main installment in the critically acclaimed Life is Strange.
Years after the events in Arcadia Bay, Max Caulfield is now a photographer-in-residence at the prestigious Caledon University in Vermont. She has seemingly moved on from her time-rewinding powers, attempting to live a normal life and focus on her art.
Max has formed a close friendship with a graduate student named Safi, a poet with a vibrant personality, and is also acquainted with Moses, an astrophysics student and Safi's confidant.
One fateful winter night, Max discovers Safi dead in the snowy campus grounds, the victim of a gunshot wound. Overwhelmed with grief and a desperate desire to save her friend, Max instinctively tries to rewind time - a power she hasn't used in years. However, instead of rewinding, she inadvertently tears open a parallel timeline where Safi is still alive.
In this alternate reality, Safi is alive but still in danger, and Max quickly realizes that the killer will strike again in both timelines. With her new ability to shift between these two parallel realities at will, Max must navigate both timelines simultaneously to uncover clues, forge alliances, and ultimately try to prevent the same murder from happening.
The narrative explores themes of grief, the consequences of choices, the burden of extraordinary powers, and the complexities of relationships. Max will encounter a new cast of characters, each with their secrets and potential connections to the murder mystery.
Players will need to make difficult decisions that will impact the events and the relationships within both timelines, ultimately shaping the outcome of the story.
