Destiny 2 for Next-Gen Consoles Confirmed by Bungie

Bungie has confirmed that Destiny 2 is coming to both the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5.

The announcement was made via a Twitter reply to Microsoft's tweet featuring the logos of well-known developers and studios.

Bungie has already laid out their five-year plan for Destiny 2 back in 2019 so a 'Destiny 3' was out of the question here. So some kind of port was inevitable for the next-gen consoles.

Although it remains to be seen whether it will offer any major improvement in terms of graphics and features. It remains to be answred how Destiny 2’s cross-save function will work in all of this. Though it has been confimerd that transferring paid content across multiple platforms isn’t allowed. Players will have to purchase the DLCs on each platforms separately.

Destiny 2 was always going to be playable on the upcoming console through backwards compatibility, but this confirmation suggests that a native version released for the next-gen will bring with it some worthwhile enhancements.

'Destiny 2' will release on PS5 and Xbox Series X as a free-to-play online multiplayer FPS.
