Resident Evil 2 remake - The award winning remake of the classic

It's a survival horror game. It was developed and published by Capcom. I know you may have heard of this game before and you might be thinking that it's a very old game. But you are totally wrong. It's a remake of the same old game, Players control rookie police officer Leon S Kennedy and Claire the college student as they attempt to escape Raccoon City during a zombie outbreak.

Awards bestowed upon Resident Evil 2 Remake

Resident Evil 2 received many awards like critical acclaim, with praise for its presentation, gameplay, and faithfulness to the original one. Resident Evil 2 was nominated for several awards, including numerous “game of the year” awards. In March 2020, Resident Evil 2 game sold about 6.5 million copies worldwide, which over crossed the original copy.

How did it get that much attention?

Resident Evil 2 game is a remake of the game which was released in 1998. Many people grew up with it being a part of their childhoold, the news announcement got the attention and a wide spread pretty easily. Now all CAPCOM had to do, was to Deliver, which they did.

Unlike the original Resident Evil, which uses tank controls and fixed camera angles, the remake features third-person shooter gameplay similar to Resident Evil 4 and 5, and allows players the option to move while using their weapons. While RE 4 & 5 were mostly action based, RE2 Remake took their controls and somehow carved that into a survival horror game.

The standard difficulty mode differs from the original by including a new  feature  autosave and allows  players to save as often as they would like inside safe rooms. If the player chooses to play on "Hardcore" difficulty much like in the original game, players will be required to collect and use a finite number of ink ribbons to save the game's progress.

I've played many survival horror games, but this one really teaches you what it means to be in a survival horror scene. You've got less ammo, more enemies. The enemies are stronger, you never know if they'll jump and bite your leg off. Since fans were not happy with the action based gameplay of RE5, this was something totally opposite. It was truly what everyone expected from an Resident evil game.

The game nicely gave me moments of emotional sacrifices, difficult choices & put me in situations where i was literally shaking for the fear of the outcome. Fighting with the zombies, Mr X, is another great experience. These were the things that CAPCOM did perfectly in RE2. They didn't cut out stuff, instead explained the mysteries in the original RE2 and then the costumes were an additional plus.

The game was released way back in January. The game is highly optimized, however if you're willing to play it, keep in mind the system requirements written below.
