An open world action-adventure video game, The Amazing Spider-Man, is an open-world masterpiece game for all the latest open-world game developers

The Amazing Spider-Man is an open world action-adventure video game, based on the Marvel Comics character Spider-Man, and the 2012 film of the same name. It was developed by Beenox and published by Activision.

A video game based on the film was first announced at the 2011 New York Comic Con. The game was developed by Beenox, the development team behind the previous two Spider-Man games, Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions and Spider-Man: Edge of Time. During New York Comic Con a producer at Activision, Doug Heder stated that the game will take place after the events of the movie.

Gameplay of The Amazing Spider-Man

Combat

The combat gameplay is very similar to another series of games, the Batman franchise's Arkham series, developed by Rocksteady; not usually seen in a Spider-Man game, the player can use stealth attacks to defeat their foes. Spider-Man will also have to crawl through vents to get to the next stage of the game.

The Amazing Free-Roam

The Amazing Spider-Man returned free roaming to the Spider-Man game franchise, as Spider-Man can swing through Manhattan whenever and however the player wants. Hidden throughout the city are comic book pages that will, if enough are collected, unlock a full-page comic book the player can read. These comics include the Lizard's first appearance and Spider-Man's first appearance, among others.

The travel is very well designed, the map itself is not too enormous and the speed of travel makes it so the player doesn't get bored when doing so. The camera angles make every move of spidey, cinematic. That way, keeping the attention of the players grabbed.

Side Missions in The Amazing Spider-Man

For side missions, Spider-Man can stop petty crimes, prevent car chases and stop gun fights in the streets, or recover missing patients from a psychiatric hospital breakout earlier in the game, and transport civilians in need of medical attention due to the Cross-Species virus infecting the city.

Spider-Man is also tasked with finding and photographing evidence that links Oscorp to the cross-species conspiracy. This includes photographing villains and Oscorp Logos, and finding special Oscorp items, such as audio files or other files. When he finds this evidence, it can give Spider-Man XP Points, or unlock extra content in the main menu, such as concept art.
