Riot Games has finally released ranked play into the launch version of Valorant with the 1.02 update, which is now live, and the patch notes make for some very interesting reading. In the first edition of Riot's Ask Valorant blog post series, the developer announced that patch 1.02 is bringing a much-needed feature for when all hope is lost, the feature to surrender.
"You can stop spamming us now, because Competitive Mode goes live this patch. Most obvious change is that our top rank is now “Radiant” and we’ve added a surrender option, which will come in handy when you start losing to Radiant players."

The 1.02 patch, along with some bug fixes and changes to the map, also brings a much needed buffs to the agent Viper along with some new changes to other champions.
Changes to Viper
Viper's Toxic Screen now burns through walls, placing emitters at all valid locations (e.g., the ground) over its length. It was stated that despite the wall being having good vision blocking, it was only useful in certain situations. But this buff should allow Viper's Toxic Screen to be more useful in various other places.
Viper's Snake Bite also received a change too. Taking damage from Snake Bite will make a player fragile for a short time. Fragile is a debuff state during which the player takes more damage.
Viper's Poisen Orb got an activation cool down increased from 5s to 6s

Riot stated "We like Viper’s unique ability to do “one-way” smokes, but some of the locations could create places where it was suicide to push through. An increased window should keep this viable without eliminating the strategy."
Some other changes
Jett's Blade Storm now refreshes when used to kill Phoenix during Run It Back.
For Reyna,Soul Orbs are now spawned when Reyna kills Phoenix during Run It Back.
