Hi-Fi RUSH Gameplay

Rhythm-Based Combat

The game's core mechanic revolves around synchronizing your attacks and dodges with the beat of the music. Every action, from striking enemies to parrying attacks, is tied to the rhythm, creating a dynamic and satisfying gameplay loop.

Stylish Combat

Players control Chai, a young man who gains the ability to perceive the world through music after an experimental surgery. This allows for stylish and fluid combat sequences, filled with flashy combos and satisfying finishers.

Character Progression

As you progress through the game, you can upgrade Chai's abilities, unlock new combos, and customize his appearance.

Arcade Challenge! Update!

Test your abilities in two new game modes, uncover new rewards and even a few secrets in this free update to Hi-Fi RUSH, The Arcade Challenge! Update!

BPM RUSH tasks players to battle waves of enemies to music with a steadily increasing BPM or beats per minute. As you defeat each wave and tackle toughened-up new foes, the BPM will speed up to the next level, up to a whopping 200 BPM in the final stages!

Power Up! Tower Up! is a twist on the Rhythm Tower mode that players unlock after their first playthrough. You’ll be climbing up floors and defeating waves of enemies, but this time you’ll be powering up a downgraded Chai with randomized Upgrades!

The Arcade Challenge! Update! also contains additional content for players to earn through challenges and discover in-game, including poses for Photo Mode, t-shirts for Chai, Photo Mode stickers, extra outfits, and even Special Attacks starring CNMN and Smidge, everybody's favorite mechanical friends.

Chai Versus The World

Labeled ‘defective’ after a shady corporate experiment mistakenly fuses a music player to his heart, Chai must now fight for his freedom in a slick animated world where everything – platforming puzzles, enemy attacks, and even the colorful gags & banter - are synced to the beat.

Take on armies of corporate drones (read: actual robots) in satisfying, rhythm-amplified combat. Time your moves to pull off flashy Beat Hits, hard-hitting special abilities, and even combination attacks with your allies! Want to show off? Rowdy Rebels Vs. Badass Bosses

Lead a squad of colorful teammates and take the fight to the heart of an, er, heartless corporation. Square off with each department’s boss, from Production to Marketing to Finance, each more ready to protect the company’s bottom line than the last in over-the-top battle sequences accompanied by their music tracks!
