Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness Story

The game begins in Paris, where Lara Croft is framed for the murder of her former mentor, Werner Von Croy. While on the run from the police, she becomes entangled in a mystery involving a sinister alchemist from the past and a secret alliance of powerful individuals obsessed with a set of five 14th-century Obscura paintings.

Lara must clear her name, uncover the truth behind Von Croy's murder, and stop this unholy alliance from unleashing a terrible power upon the world.

Gameplay

Third-person action-adventure

Like previous Tomb Raider games, players control Lara Croft through a third-person perspective, navigating environments, solving puzzles, and engaging in combat.

New moves and abilities

Lara has new moves such as a small hop, army-crawling, hand-to-hand combat, stealth attacks, and a "super-jump."

Stamina meter

A new addition is a stamina meter that depletes during climbing, adding a layer of challenge to platforming sections. Lara's strength can be improved to slow down stamina depletion.

Character interaction

For the first time in the series, Lara can interact with NPCs, engaging in conversations where her choices can affect the story's progression.

Stealth elements

The game introduces stealth mechanics, allowing Lara to sneak past enemies and perform stealth attacks.

Character evolution

By solving puzzles and overcoming obstacles, Lara's abilities, such as upper body strength, jumping ability, and brainpower, can improve.

Dual playable characters

For a significant portion of the game, players also control Kurtis Trent, a new playable character with unique abilities, including psychic powers and the use of a bladed weapon called the Chirugai.
